Elon Musk confirms Starlink is now officially live in the UAE

## Starlink Launches in UAE

SpaceX's satellite internet service, Starlink, is now operational in the UAE. This follows regulatory approval and the opening of pre-orders last week. Elon Musk confirmed the launch, making the UAE one of over 150 regions where Starlink is available.

## Regulatory Approval

The UAE’s Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority granted Starlink a 10-year General Space Services License on August 28. This license allows Starlink to operate a public satellite communications network and offer broadband services in the country.

## Service Details

Starlink's residential internet service in the UAE costs Dh300 per month, offering unlimited data and a 30-day trial. The necessary hardware starts at Dh1,465, with a Dh300 deposit required at checkout. The service promises speeds up to 400+ Mbps.

## Broader Connectivity

Beyond residential use, the license permits Starlink to provide internet to businesses, government entities, maritime vessels, and aircraft. The service uses a network of low Earth orbit satellites, providing an alternative to traditional internet options.

## Demand and Delivery

High demand has led to a waiting list and potential shipping delays. Customers are advised that delivery timelines will be communicated once available.
