Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is set to significantly expand its workforce as part of its fleet growth strategy. The airline plans to hire between 2,500 and 3,000 new employees annually over the next five years. This follows a substantial recruitment drive in 2025, where over 3,200 new staff members were added.

## Fleet and Workforce Expansion

The airline's CEO, Antonoaldo Neves, confirmed that Etihad will maintain a steady pace of recruitment, aligning with the addition of approximately 20 new aircraft each year. This expansion is part of a broader strategy to enhance the airline's operational capabilities and service offerings.

## Focus on Frontline Roles

In 2025, Etihad prioritized hiring for frontline positions, including around 1,600 cabin crew and nearly 400 pilots. The airline also promoted about 1,500 cabin crew members and 150 pilots, emphasizing internal talent development and leadership.

## Diverse Workforce

Etihad's workforce is notably diverse, comprising employees from 152 different nationalities. The airline continues to focus on developing UAE National talent through various training and leadership programs.

## Fleet Growth Strategy

Etihad's fleet reached a historic size of 127 aircraft in 2025, with plans to continue expanding by around 20 aircraft annually. Recent major aircraft orders are expected to support this growth, allowing for network expansion and enhanced product offerings.
