Fertiglobe investors set for at least $150 million dividend after Q2 profit jump

## Significant Profit Increase

Fertiglobe, a major fertiliser producer listed in Abu Dhabi, reported a substantial increase in its second-quarter earnings for 2026. The company's adjusted EBITDA reached $371 million, marking a 111% rise compared to the previous year. This surge in profits is attributed to improved pricing and robust production performance, particularly in Egypt and Algeria.

## Dividend Announcement

As a result of the strong financial performance, Fertiglobe plans to distribute at least $150 million in dividends to its shareholders for the first half of 2026. This proposed payout translates to 6.73 fils per share, reflecting a more than 20% increase from the same period last year. The board is expected to approve this in September, with payments scheduled for October.

## Revenue and Production Highlights

The company's revenue for the second quarter reached $1.1 billion, a 92% increase year-on-year. For the first half of the year, revenue rose by 59% to $2 billion, while adjusted EBITDA increased by 63% to $713 million. Fertiglobe's operations maintained a high urea utilisation rate of 92%, supported by its Manufacturing Improvement Plan.

## Strategic Adjustments

Despite facing export shipment constraints in the UAE, Fertiglobe managed to maintain production continuity by diversifying export routes and expanding storage capacity. The company also leveraged its global trading platform to offset lower sales volumes with higher fertiliser prices, which helped expand its adjusted EBITDA margin.

## Financial Health

Fertiglobe's net debt decreased significantly, falling to $621 million by the end of June from $1 billion at the end of December 2025. The company has returned or proposed to return at least $3 billion to shareholders since its IPO, including the current dividend proposal. Additionally, Fertiglobe is executing a share repurchase program, having bought back 1.34% of its shares by June.
