Later in the morning, a suspected unexploded device was discovered near the Senate building in Pasay City, part of Metro Manila. A tow truck driver noticed the device on a street adjacent to the Senate and alerted security personnel. The police, trained in handling explosives, safely removed the device, which included components such as a blasting cap and a jar with a "brown powder."
