## Task Force Formation
In response to recent controversies surrounding the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, the Indian government has established a task force to enhance the security and transparency of national entrance exams. The six-member panel is led by Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys and architect of Aadhaar.
## Objectives and Responsibilities
The task force is tasked with recommending reforms to prevent exam paper leaks, strengthen candidate verification, and improve cyber security. It aims to modernize examination logistics and enhance the credibility of the National Testing Agency (NTA), which oversees major exams like NEET and JEE.
## Expert Panel Members
The panel includes: - **Nandan Nilekani**: Focuses on digital security and AI-powered verification. - **S Somanath**: Brings expertise in high-reliability systems from his tenure at ISRO. - **Tapan Deka**: Provides insights on intelligence-based security measures. - **V Kamakoti**: Specializes in computer-based examination systems. - **Anita Karwal**: Offers experience in education governance and evaluation. - **Amrit Lal Meena**: Focuses on secure logistics for exam materials.
## Legislative Measures
In addition to the task force, the government plans to introduce the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026. This legislation aims to impose stricter penalties for exam fraud and expedite legal proceedings related to examination offenses.
## Next Steps
The task force will submit its recommendations to the government, which will use these insights to implement reforms across the examination system. This initiative follows nationwide protests and the resignation of former Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
