Saudi Arabia arrests nearly 15,000 residency, labour and border law violators in one week

## Nationwide Crackdown

Saudi Arabia has detained 14,970 individuals for breaching residency, labor, and border laws during a series of inspections conducted from July 16 to July 22. The Ministry of Interior reported that these arrests included 7,437 residency law violators, 3,991 border security offenders, and 3,542 labor law violators.

## Illegal Entry Attempts

Among those apprehended, 1,626 individuals were caught attempting to enter the country illegally. The majority of these were Ethiopian nationals, followed by Yemenis and a small percentage from other nationalities. Additionally, 33 people were stopped while trying to exit the country unlawfully.

## Legal Consequences

Currently, 30,546 violators are undergoing legal proceedings. The Ministry has also facilitated the deportation of 13,251 individuals. Authorities have warned that those aiding illegal entry or employment could face severe penalties, including up to 15 years in prison and fines reaching SR1 million.

## Public Cooperation

The Ministry encourages the public to report any violations, assuring confidentiality and no legal repercussions for informants. Reports can be made by calling designated emergency numbers in various regions of the Kingdom.
