## Major AI Chip Agreements
Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, two leading South Korean memory chip manufacturers, have finalized deals worth $950 billion with major US tech companies, including Nvidia. This announcement was made during President Lee Jae Myung's visit to San Francisco, where he engaged with top executives from companies like OpenAI and Broadcom.
## Economic Impact
These agreements are expected to significantly boost South Korea's economic prospects. The deals include a five-year cooperation plan where SK hynix will supply $750 billion worth of memory chips to firms such as Nvidia. Additionally, Samsung has signed a $200 billion memorandum of understanding with Broadcom to provide advanced memory chips and foundry services for AI chip production.
## Strategic Collaborations
Samsung and Broadcom aim to collaborate on developing industry-leading memory solutions, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), to support next-generation AI accelerators. Meanwhile, SK hynix and Nvidia plan to co-develop and optimize AI memory solutions to meet the demands of evolving AI infrastructure.
## South Korea's AI Ambitions
South Korea is increasing its investment in artificial intelligence, with plans to triple spending this year. The country aims to become a global leader in AI, alongside the United States and China.
