## Emergency Loan Initiative

The Philippines' Pag-IBIG Fund has distributed ₱5.82 billion in emergency loans to over 803,000 members. This initiative, known as the Special Assistance for Financial Emergencies (SAFE) Loan, was launched in June to support Filipinos affected by economic challenges due to ongoing Middle East conflicts.

## Loan Details

The SAFE Loan offers financial aid to active Pag-IBIG members who have made at least 12 monthly contributions and have no existing loan defaults. Eligible members can borrow up to ₱10,000 or 90% of their total savings, whichever is lower. The loan features a 5.95% annual interest rate and can be repaid over 12, 24, or 36 months, with a three-month grace period before repayments start.

## Application Process

Applications are accepted online via Virtual Pag-IBIG, requiring a completed form, a valid ID, and a selfie for verification. The program is available until September 8, 2026.

## Government Support

The initiative aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to provide financial relief. Pag-IBIG CEO Marilene Acosta emphasized the agency's commitment to aiding members during economic uncertainties while continuing to support homeownership through affordable housing loans.
