## Background
A legal battle involving a commercial partnership in Dubai has concluded with the court dismissing a Dh3.9 million claim. The dispute began when two partners accused a third partner and four others of breach of trust and deception in a business deal.
## Criminal and Civil Proceedings
Initially, the case was brought before the Dubai Criminal Court, where the defendants were acquitted. The matter then proceeded to civil court, where the claimants sought financial compensation and the return of two cheques totaling Dh12.95 million.
## Court's Ruling
The court ruled against the claimants, citing a lack of evidence for a contractual relationship with the companies involved. The court noted that the purchase orders were not acknowledged, and one company's trade license did not cover the goods in question.
## Cheques and Counterclaims
Regarding the cheques, the court found no evidence they were conditional or improperly cashed. A counterclaim for Dh2 million in damages for alleged misuse of litigation was also dismissed, as the court emphasized the right to seek legal redress without evidence of bad faith.
