Xpeng electric SUV $10,000 cheaper than a Tesla Model Y?

## Xpeng Challenges Tesla in Europe

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng has introduced its new L03 SUV-coupe in Europe, aiming to compete with Tesla by offering a more affordable option. The L03 is priced at €34,990, making it significantly cheaper than the Tesla Model Y in several European markets.

## Competitive Pricing Strategy

In Germany, the L03 starts at €35,600, undercutting the Model Y by about €3,400. In Norway, the price difference is even more pronounced, with the L03 costing 299,900 kroner, approximately $10,000 less than the Model Y. This pricing strategy places Xpeng in direct competition with Tesla in Europe's largest electric vehicle segment.

## Features and Variants

The L03 is available in four variants, all equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries. It supports fast charging, reaching 80% in around 20 minutes. Standard features include a heat pump, heated and ventilated seats, and a panoramic roof. The top-tier Ultra trim includes advanced driver-assistance technology.

## Market Implications

Xpeng's entry into Europe highlights the growing influence of Chinese automakers in the region. While Tesla maintains advantages such as a robust charging network and local production, Xpeng's aggressive pricing could attract cost-conscious buyers. The L03's launch marks a significant step in the evolving landscape of Europe's electric vehicle market.
