## Visa Options and Duration
The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has clarified the rules for visit visas for relatives and friends. Residents can sponsor loved ones for single or multiple-entry visas, valid for 30, 60, or 90 days. Visitors can extend their stay within the UAE, pending approval.
## Salary Requirements for Sponsors
Sponsoring first-degree relatives requires a minimum monthly income of Dh4,000. For second- and third-degree relatives, the income threshold is Dh8,000. Sponsoring friends necessitates a monthly salary of at least Dh15,000. Sponsors must have a valid UAE residence visa and Emirates ID.
## Required Documents
Applicants need to provide the sponsor's Emirates ID and passport copy, the visitor's passport copy and photo, proof of income, and accommodation details. Relationship certificates must be attested if applicable. The visitor's passport should be valid for at least six months from the application date.
## Visa Fees and Application Process
Single-entry visa fees start at Dh200 for 30 days, while multiple-entry visas begin at Dh300. A refundable security deposit is required. Applications can be submitted via GDRFA Dubai’s Smart Services, mobile app, Amer centres, or Customer Happiness Centres. Most applications are processed within 48 hours, and approved visitors must enter the UAE within 60 days of visa issuance.
## Demand and Benefits
The visit visa service remains popular, with 29,456 visas issued in the first half of 2026. This initiative supports the UAE’s role as a global hub for living and tourism, facilitating family reunions and enhancing social connectivity.
