## New Appointment in UAE Higher Education

Dr Ahmed Sultan Nasser Al Shuaibi has been appointed as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE. This appointment was made official through a Federal Decree issued by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

## Extensive Experience in Education

Dr Al Shuaibi brings a wealth of experience in higher education and academic leadership. Prior to this role, he was the Executive Director of the Higher Education and Talent Development sectors at the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). He has also served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at Khalifa University.

Dr Al Shuaibi holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado, obtained in 2008, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde. His academic career includes teaching various engineering disciplines at universities across the UAE. Additionally, he has contributed to the field through several published research papers in science and engineering.
