## flydubai Increases Bangkok Flights
Dubai-based airline flydubai is set to double its daily flights to Bangkok starting July 18, responding to a surge in travel demand between the UAE and Thailand. This expansion comes despite ongoing regional tensions.
## Codeshare Partnership
The Bangkok route is part of the Emirates-flydubai codeshare agreement, allowing passengers to travel on a single ticket with seamless connections across over 240 destinations.
## Thai Tourism Boost
Thai tourism officials anticipate an increase in weekly flights between the UAE and Thailand to around 140, as the country aims to attract more visitors from the Gulf region. The Tourism Authority of Thailand expects over 600,000 travelers from GCC countries by the end of 2026, with more than 150,000 from the UAE.
## New Routes and Services
flydubai recently launched daily flights to Don Mueang International Airport, offering travelers another entry point to Bangkok. With the additional Bangkok service and existing flights to Krabi, flydubai will operate up to 21 weekly flights to Thailand.
## Focus on Wellness and Luxury
GCC travelers are increasingly opting for longer stays focused on wellness, medical tourism, and luxury experiences. Visitors from the UAE typically spend between 10 days and three weeks in Thailand, contributing significantly to the local economy.
## Network Expansion
flydubai's expansion is part of a broader strategy to enhance its network, with Bangkok being one of several new destinations added this year. Emirates, Etihad Airways, and Air Arabia are also increasing their flight frequencies to Thailand, reflecting strong demand from Europe and the GCC.
