## Religious Ruling on Wi-Fi Sharing
Egypt's Grand Mufti has declared that sharing a home Wi-Fi password with neighbors in exchange for a fee is religiously forbidden without the internet service provider's written consent. This ruling was issued by Egypt's Dar Al Ifta following a public inquiry.
## Contractual Violations
The Grand Mufti, Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, emphasized that such practices violate the contractual terms between customers and telecommunications companies. Typically, these contracts specify that the service is for personal use only and cannot be resold or transferred without the provider's approval.
## Legal and Religious Implications
According to the fatwa, internet service agreements are binding contracts, and subscribers are both legally and religiously obligated to adhere to their terms. Sharing the connection without consent is considered a breach of contract and is deemed deceptive under Islamic law.
