## Enhanced Credit Assessments
The UAE's Etihad Credit Bureau (ECB) has integrated pension and Nafis support data into its credit reports, providing banks with a more comprehensive view of an individual's verified income. This update, announced recently, aims to improve loan assessments by including additional income sources beyond just salaries.
## Broader Income Evaluation
Previously, credit evaluations primarily focused on salary information. With the new integration, verified pension income and Nafis financial support are now part of the income data available to lenders. This change offers a broader perspective on applicants' recurring income, particularly benefiting retirees and Emiratis receiving Nafis support.
## Improved Lending Decisions
The ECB's move is part of a digital collaboration with the General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) and the Nafis programme. It aims to enhance the exchange of financial and government support data while ensuring data security. This integration is expected to help financial institutions make better-informed lending decisions by recognizing a fuller picture of an individual's steady income.
## Supporting Financial Wellbeing
Officials from GPSSA and the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council have highlighted the initiative's role in improving financial transparency and supporting evidence-based decision-making. By providing a clearer understanding of beneficiaries' financial positions, the integration supports the UAE's vision of a sustainable financial ecosystem and enhances the financial wellbeing of its citizens.
