## Flight Cancellations Following Attack
Flights from Dubai and Sharjah to Saudi Arabia's Abha International Airport were cancelled on Tuesday after an attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels. The incident involved missiles and drones targeting the airport, leading to significant disruptions.
## Affected Airlines and Flights
Flydubai and Air Arabia were among the airlines affected. Flydubai cancelled two flights from Dubai to Abha, originally scheduled for 10:25 am and 4:05 pm. Return flights from Abha to Dubai and Sharjah were also cancelled. Air Arabia's flight from Abha to Sharjah, set for 2:25 pm, was similarly affected.
## Broader Impact
In total, at least 10 departures from Abha were cancelled, including flights by Saudia and flyadeal. Saudia cancelled flights to Riyadh and Jeddah, while flyadeal cancelled two flights to Jeddah.
## Regional Tensions
The attack marks a significant escalation in tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, following a period of relative calm. The United Nations Security Council convened an emergency meeting, expressing concerns about the potential for a wider regional conflict. UN officials urged all parties to engage in negotiations to prevent further escalation.
