Dhurandhar’s Rs 31 billion dream run hits a hurdle in Japan: Ranveer Singh film gets just 900 admissions on Day 1

## Modest Opening for 'Dhurandhar' in Japan

Ranveer Singh's blockbuster film 'Dhurandhar' has encountered a challenging start in Japan. Despite a successful run in India, the film's debut in Japanese theaters on July 10 saw only 900 admissions on its first day. This is a stark contrast to its domestic success, where the franchise has amassed over Rs 3,100 crore globally.

## Struggles to Enter Top 25

The film, which was shown on nearly 80 screens, failed to secure a spot in Japan's top 25 films during its opening weekend. This performance is notably lower than other Indian films that have previously made a significant impact in the Japanese market.

## Comparison with Other Indian Films

'Dhurandhar' also missed entering the top 10 list of Indian films with the highest opening-day admissions in Japan. To achieve this, it needed to surpass Salman Khan's 'Tiger 3', which had 1,300 admissions. The current record for an Indian film in Japan is held by 'RRR', with 8,230 footfalls.

## Success in India

In India, 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' has been a massive hit, becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film ever, following 'Dangal'. The franchise, directed by Aditya Dhar, features a star-studded cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal.
