## Record-Breaking Year for Dubai's Diamond Trade

Dubai's diamond trade hit a new high in 2025, reaching $41.7 billion, surpassing the previous record set in 2011. This achievement marks a significant increase in both the value and volume of diamonds traded through the emirate.

## Significant Growth in Trade Volume

In 2025, Dubai handled 359.5 million carats of diamonds, a 42.5% increase from the previous year. This growth reflects a broader trend, with trade volume doubling since 2020.

## Natural Diamonds Lead the Market

Natural diamonds were the primary driver of this growth, contributing $39.9 billion to the total trade value. The emirate traded 205.2 million carats of natural rough diamonds, marking a 34% increase from 2024.

## Rise in Polished Diamonds

The trade of natural polished diamonds also saw substantial growth, reaching $18.7 billion, a nearly 25% increase from the previous year. Since 2020, the value of polished diamonds has surged by 246%.

## Expansion of Coloured Gemstones Market

Dubai's coloured gemstone trade reached a record $1.1 billion in 2025, growing by 48% from the previous year. This was supported by significant increases in imports and re-exports.

## Broader Product Range

Synthetic and industrial diamonds made up about 39% of the total diamond carats traded, indicating a diverse range of products moving through Dubai.

## Infrastructure and Strategy

The Dubai Diamond Exchange, operated by DMCC, plays a crucial role in supporting this growth with its comprehensive services and infrastructure. The emirate's strategy focuses on creating a connected and efficient ecosystem for the diamond industry.
