## Surge in DIFC Court Cases
Businesses are increasingly opting for the DIFC Courts in Dubai to handle high-value commercial disputes. In the first half of 2026, a record 810 cases were filed, marking a 25% increase from the previous year. The total value of these claims reached Dh10.02 billion, a 48% rise, averaging Dh55 million in claims daily.
## Opt-In Jurisdiction Popularity
A significant portion of the cases, 243, were filed under the courts' opt-in jurisdiction, allowing parties to choose the DIFC Courts even if not required. This option was particularly popular for high-value and complex disputes, with 42% of claims at the Court of First Instance filed this way.
## Increase in Average Claim Value
The Court of First Instance saw 110 claims, up 28% from the previous year, with a combined value of Dh9.02 billion. The average claim value more than doubled to Dh112.6 million, reflecting the complexity and high stakes of the cases handled.
## Growth in Arbitration and Enforcement
The Arbitration Division registered 37 claims, a 61% increase, with a total value of Dh3.17 billion. Enforcement filings more than doubled, with 220 cases, indicating a strong demand for turning judgments into enforceable outcomes.
## Predominance of Digital Proceedings
Almost all proceedings were conducted online, with 818 out of 824 held digitally. The courts issued 1,766 digital orders and judgments, showcasing their commitment to digital accessibility and efficiency.
