Dubai warns of Dh500 fine for abandoned vehicles this summer

## Vehicle Abandonment Penalties

Dubai Municipality has announced a Dh500 fine for vehicles left unattended in public areas during the summer. This measure aims to maintain the city's aesthetic and cleanliness. Inspection teams are active year-round to identify and remove such vehicles from roads, public car parks, and open sandy areas.

## Guidelines for Vehicle Owners

Motorists traveling abroad are advised to follow specific guidelines to avoid penalties. These include parking in secure locations, conducting regular maintenance, using protective covers, and ensuring vehicles are cleaned periodically. Vehicles left without supervision can negatively impact Dubai's urban landscape.

## Enforcement Process

When a vehicle is identified as abandoned, it is documented and a warning is issued, ranging from three to 15 days based on its condition and location. If the vehicle is not moved within the warning period, it is towed to an impound yard in Al Awir. Additional costs for towing and storage apply, varying by vehicle type and duration of impoundment.

## Home Pool Safety Recommendations

In addition to vehicle guidelines, the municipality has issued safety recommendations for families using home swimming pools. These include supervising children, securing pool areas, and maintaining proper water treatment levels. Parents are urged to avoid distractions and ensure safety barriers are in place to prevent accidents.
