## Major Road Development in Dubai

Dubai has announced a significant road infrastructure project valued at Dh2 billion. The initiative, known as the Latifa bint Hamdan Corridor Development Project, aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity across the city.

## Project Details

The 12-kilometer corridor will link six major highways, including Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. It is expected to reduce travel time between Umm Al Sheif Street and Emirates Road by 54%, cutting journeys from 33 minutes to just 15 minutes.

## Infrastructure Enhancements

The project involves constructing 15 grade-separated structures, including seven bridges and eight tunnels. Latifa bint Hamdan Street will be expanded to four lanes in each direction, accommodating up to 16,000 vehicles per hour.

## Additional Features

A new road will connect Al Khail Road with the extended Latifa bint Hamdan Street. The development also includes 12.5 kilometers of cycling tracks, enhancing the city's cycling network.

## Strategic Importance

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General of the Roads and Transport Authority, emphasized the project's role in supporting Dubai's rapid urban growth and economic development. The corridor will serve over 650,000 residents and visitors, facilitating more than 130,000 vehicle trips daily.

## Completion Timeline

The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2028, marking a significant step in Dubai's long-term urban and economic plans.
