## Partnership for Sustainable Campuses

The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) has entered into a five-year collaboration with Siemens to enhance sustainability and digital innovation across its campuses. This initiative aligns with the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategic Initiative and Green Agenda 2030.

## Focus Areas

The partnership aims to develop smart campuses by integrating green skills, applied research, and digital technologies. This will improve sustainability and operational efficiency at HCT, supporting its data-driven approach to governance and policy.

## Leadership Insights

Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Vice President of Shared Services at HCT, emphasized the institution's commitment to creating sustainable learning environments. Helmut von Struve, CEO of Siemens in the Middle East and UAE, highlighted the collaboration's role in preparing students for a low-carbon economy.

## Smart Campus Framework

A key component of the collaboration is the development of a Smart Campus Framework using Siemens’ Building X platform. This will modernize energy, water, and waste management systems, and support clean mobility through electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

## Knowledge Sharing and Research

The agreement includes a knowledge-sharing program offering technical training, faculty development, and green skills certifications. HCT and Siemens will also collaborate on applied research in areas like advanced manufacturing and energy technologies, sharing laboratories and digital testing facilities to foster innovation.
