ADNOC L&S orders four LNG carriers in $900 million fleet expansion

## New LNG Carrier Order

ADNOC Logistics and Services (ADNOC L&S) has announced a significant expansion of its fleet with the purchase of four new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. The order, valued at approximately $900 million, is part of ADNOC's strategy to enhance its global LNG marketing and trading capabilities.

## Delivery and Construction Details

The four carriers, each with a capacity of 175,000 cubic meters, are scheduled for delivery in 2029. They will be constructed by Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai and are expected to operate under long-term charters.

## Fleet Expansion Program

This latest acquisition increases ADNOC L&S's LNG newbuild program to 18 vessels, with total fleet investment commitments exceeding $5 billion since 2022. The expansion aligns with ADNOC's goal to market 47 million tonnes of LNG annually by 2035.

## Previous and Future Deliveries

ADNOC L&S has already received six LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard under a previous $1.2 billion order. Additionally, eight more LNG carriers are being built by Samsung Heavy Industries and Hanwha Ocean, with deliveries starting in 2028.

## Ammonia Carrier Addition

In addition to LNG carriers, ADNOC L&S has taken delivery of "Meera," the first of four Very Large Ammonia Carriers ordered through AW Shipping, a joint venture with China's Wanhua Chemical Group. This vessel is among the largest ammonia carriers globally, with a capacity of 93,000 cubic meters.

## Strategic Importance

The fleet expansion is crucial for ADNOC as global demand for natural gas continues to rise. The new vessels will help efficiently connect supply sources with high-growth demand centers, supporting the global energy transformation.
