Dubai launches dedicated EV hub for taxi fleet

## New EV Charging Hub Launched

Dubai has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) charging hub specifically for its taxi fleet. This initiative is a collaboration between Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and Dubai Taxi Company (DTC).

## Strategic Partnership

The hub, located at DTC's headquarters in Muhaisnah 4, features 24 ultrafast charging points, each with a capacity of 360 KW. This development is part of a broader strategy to install over 200 such charging points across the emirate.

## Supporting Green Mobility

This project aligns with Dubai's Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and the Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. The aim is to enhance sustainable transportation and reduce carbon emissions, reinforcing Dubai's commitment to environmental innovation.

## Future Plans

The partnership, initially agreed upon at WETEX 2025, is set to expand the infrastructure for electric taxis, supporting the city's vision for a sustainable future. The new hub can charge 24 vehicles simultaneously in about 35 minutes, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.

## Leadership Remarks

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO of DEWA, emphasized the importance of strategic partnerships in achieving sustainability goals. Abdul Muhsen Ibrahim Kalbat, Chairman of DTC, highlighted the collaboration's role in advancing DTC's sustainability initiatives and supporting Dubai's smart city vision.
