## Arrest and Charges
A 30-year-old Indian software engineer, Avinash Narne, has been arrested in the United States for allegedly murdering his wife, Raajitha Sabbineni. The arrest comes nearly nine months after her death was ruled a homicide by asphyxia due to strangulation.
## Incident Details
The incident occurred on October 27, 2025, when Narne reported to police that his wife was unresponsive and locked in the bathroom of their apartment. Upon arrival, officers found Sabbineni deceased. Narne claimed he had been out running errands and returned to find the bathroom locked.
## Investigation Findings
Investigators found no evidence of anyone else entering the apartment during the time Narne was away. They also uncovered a secret relationship between Narne and a woman in India, which continued even after his arranged marriage to Sabbineni in June 2025. Narne allegedly communicated with this woman multiple times on the day of the murder and sent her a photo of Sabbineni's body.
## Additional Evidence
Text messages revealed that Sabbineni had complained about drinks prepared by Narne tasting bitter. On the day of her death, she mentioned a smoothie tasting like medicine.
## Legal Proceedings
Narne has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held on a $5 million bail. If convicted, he faces the possibility of life imprisonment.
