## Key Provisions

The law criminalizes 24 offenses related to cultural heritage protection. It establishes a three-tier penalty system, with the most severe offenses, such as damaging archaeological sites or unauthorized construction, facing the highest penalties. Lesser offenses, like unauthorized excavations or misuse of heritage sites, can result in up to 10 years of imprisonment and fines up to Dh5 million.

## Digital Heritage and Archaeological Surveying

A significant aspect of the law is the inclusion of digital heritage, which covers digital materials of cultural value. It also introduces archaeological surveying, focusing on the scientific exploration and documentation of sites.

## Implementation and Responsibilities

The Ministry of Culture, in collaboration with relevant authorities, will oversee the development of policies and strategies for cultural heritage protection. This includes promoting public awareness, supporting education, and encouraging tourism initiatives.

## Reporting and Rewards

Individuals discovering archaeological remains must report them within 48 hours to the authorities. Financial rewards may be granted for such reports. The law also allows for the nomination of UAE cultural heritage elements for international recognition, subject to ministerial approval.
