## New Flight Schedule
Emirates is set to enhance its service between Dubai and Colombo by introducing a second daily Airbus A350 flight starting August 8. This move replaces the existing Boeing 777 service on flight EK648/649, providing passengers with more options to experience the airline's Premium Economy class.
## Enhanced Passenger Experience
The additional A350 service will offer improved cabin features, including wider aisles, higher ceilings, and faster Wi-Fi. Passengers can also enjoy 4K entertainment screens and multilingual inflight entertainment options, including Tamil and Sinhala.
## Flight Details
The new flight EK648 will depart Dubai at 4:10 PM, arriving in Colombo at 10:10 PM. The return flight, EK649, will leave Colombo at 2:55 AM, reaching Dubai at 5:50 AM. These timings are local.
## Strategic Expansion
This expansion is part of Emirates' broader strategy to deploy its A350 fleet across its network. The airline first introduced the A350 on the Colombo route in March 2025, marking the debut of its Premium Economy cabin in Sri Lanka.
## Celebrating 40 Years
This year marks four decades since Emirates began operating flights to Colombo. The airline now connects the city to nearly 140 destinations worldwide, supporting travel, tourism, and trade between the two regions.
