## Emirates Group Achieves Platinum Impact Seal
Emirates Group has once again been awarded the UAE's prestigious Platinum Impact Seal for its sustainable business practices. This recognition, given by the UAE National CSR Fund, Majra, highlights the group's efforts in environmental, social, and governance areas.
## Fuel Efficiency and Sustainable Aviation Fuel
The airline's Green Ops program, initiated in 2016, has significantly reduced fuel consumption through various strategies, saving over 98,000 tonnes of fuel and cutting carbon emissions by more than 312,000 tonnes in 2024-25. Additionally, Emirates purchased over 28,000 tonnes of sustainable aviation fuel in 2025-26, further reducing emissions.
## Solar Energy and Recycling Initiatives
Emirates has also invested in clean energy, installing nearly 40,000 solar panels at its Engineering Centre, which now supplies 37% of the facility's energy needs. The airline's recycling efforts include repurposing inflight service items and upcycling materials into new products.
## dnata's Sustainable Operations
dnata, a part of the Emirates Group, is transitioning to cleaner operations by replacing diesel-powered equipment with hybrid and electric alternatives. In 2025-26, 17% of its global fleet was electrified, and it increased its use of alternative fuels by 89% compared to the previous year.
## Waste Management and Renewable Energy
Emirates Flight Catering has implemented a large-scale biodigester to process organic waste, aiming to reduce carbon emissions by over 2,000 tonnes annually. dnata has also focused on waste reduction, diverting 47% of waste from disposal in 2025-26, and increased its renewable energy consumption to 15% of its total energy use.
