## Forum Overview
The ninth Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2026) is set to take place on October 14-15 at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre. Organized by the Sharjah FDI Office in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Investment, the event will focus on "Building Adaptive Economies."
## Key Themes and Discussions
The forum will gather global policymakers, investors, and business leaders to discuss the future of investment amid rapid geopolitical and technological changes. Key topics include investment trends, artificial intelligence, and strategies for sustainable growth. The event aims to explore how adaptive economies can drive long-term investment and market resilience.
## Importance of Adaptation
As global challenges evolve, the forum will highlight the importance of policies and practices that enable economies to adapt. Discussions will cover public-private partnerships, digital transformation, and knowledge-based economies, aligning with Sharjah's vision for a diversified and resilient economic model.
## Global Economic Context
The forum comes at a time when the global economy faces significant shifts. The McKinsey Global Institute predicts that generative AI could add up to $4.4 trillion annually to the global economy. Meanwhile, the World Economic Forum estimates that 59% of the workforce will need reskilling by 2030. Additionally, UNCTAD's report indicates a decline in global foreign direct investment, underscoring the need for adaptive policies.
## UAE's Strategic Vision
Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi, UAE Minister of Investment, emphasized the forum's role in advancing dialogue on transforming challenges into opportunities. The UAE aims to enhance its global partnerships and create a competitive business environment, targeting AED 240 billion in annual FDI inflows by 2031.
