## New Regulations for Building Advertisements
Abu Dhabi has introduced a Dh10,000 fine for installing illuminated advertising boards on building facades or rooftops without prior approval. This regulation is part of a broader effort to enhance public safety and ensure compliance with safety standards.
## Scope of the Rule
The rule applies to all existing and under-construction buildings across the country, except for independent private residential homes. Building owners and businesses are urged to obtain necessary permits before installing such advertisements.
## Safety Concerns
The Civil Defence emphasizes that unauthorized installations can pose significant safety risks. The regulation aims to mitigate these risks by ensuring that all illuminated signs meet approved safety requirements.
## Additional Safety Measures
In addition to the new fines, residential tower and building managements are advising residents to adhere to fire-safety rules. These include avoiding barbecuing with charcoal or electric grills on balconies, not leaving incense or candles unattended, and refraining from smoking in shared areas. Violating these guidelines could lead to serious fire hazards and endanger lives.
