India issues advisory after Thailand visa rule change: What UAE travellers need to know

## New Visa Requirements for Indian Travellers

The Indian Embassy in Thailand has released an 11-point advisory for Indian nationals traveling to Thailand. This follows recent changes in Thailand's visa and entry requirements, which now include stricter checks on documentation, financial sufficiency, and travel intent.

## Key Guidelines for Travellers

Travellers are advised to ensure their passports are valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. Confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings, and a clear travel itinerary are also necessary to support the stated purpose of travel during immigration checks.

## Mandatory Digital Arrival Form

A new requirement is the completion of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours prior to arrival. This online form generates a QR code that may be required at immigration.

## Financial and Visa Requirements

Visitors must apply for the appropriate visa based on their visit's purpose. Those using Visa Waiver or Visa on Arrival facilities need to carry at least 20,000 Thai Baht in cash. Immigration authorities may request proof of sufficient funds during entry checks.

## Employment and Transit Rules

The embassy warns against using tourist entry routes for employment purposes, as this requires a work visa. Transit passengers should carry all necessary onward travel documentation, including valid visas for their final destination.

## Advisory Checklist

The embassy's checklist includes ensuring passport validity, confirmed travel arrangements, and carrying the required cash. Travellers are urged to verify all requirements before departure to avoid complications at immigration.
