Indian passport services in UAE: Alhind explains delay in launch of consular centres

## Postponement of New Services

Alhind Tours and Travels Private Ltd has announced a delay in the launch of new Indian Consular Application Centres in the UAE. Initially set for July 1, the rollout of passport, visa, and consular services has been postponed due to administrative reasons communicated by the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi.

## Legal Challenges

The delay follows a legal dispute in the Delhi High Court over the tender process. Two companies that lost the bid challenged the results, leading to a Supreme Court order to maintain the status quo until the matter is resolved. This has prevented Alhind from taking over the services from previous operators, BLS International and SGIVS Global Services.

## Centres Ready

Despite the postponement, Alhind has completed preparations for 16 new centres across the UAE, including locations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and other emirates. The company is ready to begin operations once they receive authorization from the Embassy.

## Interim Arrangements

With the previous contracts expired, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate in Dubai are currently offering limited consular services directly. Alhind advises applicants to visit these locations for urgent needs and to monitor official websites for updates on the new service launch.

## Commitment to Service

Alhind has expressed its commitment to providing efficient and transparent services once authorized. They have thanked applicants for their patience and understanding during this temporary deferment.
