Zayed International Airport welcomes more than 93,000 passengers a day

## Record Passenger Numbers

Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi is experiencing a significant increase in passenger traffic, handling over 93,000 travelers daily. This surge occurred during a five-day period from June 26 to June 30, surpassing last year's figures for the same timeframe.

## Expanding Global Connections

The airport manages approximately 500 flights each day, connecting to over 100 international destinations. Plans are underway to introduce more routes in the coming months, further enhancing its global network.

## Infrastructure and Technology

The airport's success is attributed to strong demand for air travel, increased airline capacity, and advanced infrastructure. Terminal A, which opened in November 2023, plays a crucial role with its capacity to handle 45 million passengers annually. It features cutting-edge technology, including biometric passenger touchpoints and a high-capacity baggage system.

## Continued Growth

Passenger traffic at Zayed International Airport has grown by over 10% for 19 consecutive quarters. In 2025, the airport served 32.5 million passengers, accounting for 98% of the total traffic across Abu Dhabi's airports. The airport also launched 39 new routes and welcomed seven new airlines last year.

## Awards and Recognition

Zayed International Airport has received multiple international accolades, including being named the world's best airport for arrivals experience by Airports Council International for three consecutive years. It was also recognized for its shopping experience and architectural beauty.
