## Fourth ACAD Session in Abu Dhabi

On July 1, senior diplomats from the UAE and ASEAN member states convened in Abu Dhabi for the fourth session of the ASEAN Committee in Abu Dhabi (ACAD). The meeting aimed to review ongoing cooperation and set future priorities. Co-chaired by UAE Minister of State Saeed Al Hajeri and Singapore's Ambassador Kamal Vaswani, the session focused on enhancing trade, investment, and regional stability.

## UAE's Commitment to ASEAN

Minister Al Hajeri emphasized the UAE's dedication to deepening ties with ASEAN, highlighting ACAD as a key platform for dialogue and cooperation. Discussions centered on implementing a joint action plan and expanding collaboration in priority sectors. Both parties stressed the importance of sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity.

## Regional and Global Engagement

The meeting also addressed regional and international developments, with a focus on diplomatic engagement to support security and stability. Philippine Ambassador Alfonso Ver noted the UAE's capacity to contribute to international economic cooperation, citing its structured institutions and forward-looking policies.

## Strategic Alignment

Indonesian Ambassador Judha Nugraha highlighted the strategic alignment between ASEAN and the UAE, noting opportunities in trade, investment, tourism, and culture. He also mentioned UAE scholarships for ASEAN students as a key initiative for strengthening people-to-people ties.

## Future Cooperation

With Vietnam assuming the ACAD chairmanship, both sides expressed confidence in continued cooperation under the UAE–ASEAN framework, focusing on economic, diplomatic, and development priorities.
