UAE oil exports are returning to near-record levels as pre-war flows resume

## Resumption of Oil Exports

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is witnessing a significant recovery in its oil exports, reaching near-record levels. This resurgence follows disruptions caused by regional conflicts, with the country leveraging alternative routes and infrastructure to maintain global supply.

## Export Data

In June, UAE's crude and condensate exports averaged approximately 3.7 million barrels per day, surpassing pre-conflict figures of 3.1 to 3.3 million barrels per day. At one point, exports even exceeded 3.9 million barrels per day, marking one of the highest levels since 2017.

## Infrastructure and Routes

The recovery is attributed to the resilience of the UAE's energy infrastructure, particularly the Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline. This pipeline facilitates exports from the Port of Fujairah, reducing dependency on the Strait of Hormuz during times of disruption.

## Market Expansion

While Asia remains the primary market for UAE oil, demand has grown in other regions, including Africa, the US West Coast, and Europe. The UAE has been supplying crude to refineries in Nigeria and Turkey, among others.

## Broader Regional Impact

The UAE's export recovery is part of a broader improvement in Gulf oil shipments as regional tensions ease. Crude loadings from Gulf producers, excluding Iran, rose significantly in June.

## Oil Prices and Market Outlook

Oil prices have stabilized close to pre-conflict levels following a ceasefire between the US and Iran. The UAE's decision to leave OPEC on May 1 has allowed it to independently market its crude while continuing to invest in expanding production capacity and export infrastructure.
