New passport service rules announced for Indian expats in UAE as Alhind takeover delayed

## Temporary Consular Services Resumed

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has announced a temporary resumption of consular services for Indian expatriates in the UAE. Due to administrative delays in the transition to a new service provider, Alhind Tours and Travel LLC, the Embassy and the Indian Consulate in Dubai will offer limited services from their premises starting July 2.

## Walk-in Services

Services such as passport, visa, and attestation will be available on a walk-in basis, following a first-come-first-served approach. The timings for these services are set from 9am to 12:30pm. Applicants must visit in person with completed forms and necessary documents.

## Payment and Fees

Currently, only cash payments are accepted, and applicants are advised to bring exact change. The fee structure for passport services has been revised as of July 1, 2026, and applies across all locations, including future Indian Consular Application Centres.

## Contact Information

The contact details for reaching the missions remain unchanged, with a toll-free number, WhatsApp, and email available for inquiries. During the transition period, emergency services were provided through these channels.

## Transition to Alhind

The temporary arrangement is in place until the transition to Alhind is complete. Applicants are encouraged to follow official communication channels for updates and avoid relying on unverified sources.
