## US Envoys in Doha
US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Qatari mediators in Doha to discuss regional peace efforts. Despite President Donald Trump's announcement of US-Iran talks, Tehran denied any direct negotiations were planned. The meetings in Doha are part of broader consultations involving regional issues, including tensions in Iran and Lebanon.
## Iran's Position
Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran would not engage in further negotiations until certain conditions of a memorandum of understanding are met. These include the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon and the removal of a US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
## Maritime Security Concerns
The Strait of Hormuz's threat level has been raised to "substantial" due to ongoing security concerns, although commercial shipping continues. The Joint Maritime Information Center reported no recent security incidents but warned of risks such as mine threats and drone activity.
## Regional Developments
In other developments, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces would remain in southern Lebanon as long as Hezbollah poses a threat. Meanwhile, the UAE has lifted its travel ban to Lebanon, allowing Emirati citizens to visit the country under certain conditions.
