## Diplomatic Efforts in Doha
US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have met with Qatari mediators in Doha to discuss regional peace efforts. Despite President Donald Trump's announcement of US-Iran talks, Tehran has denied any direct negotiations are taking place. Qatar confirmed ongoing technical discussions between the US and Iran but stated no high-level meetings are currently scheduled.
## Iran's Stance on Negotiations
Iran's Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, emphasized that Iran will not engage in further negotiations until specific conditions of a memorandum of understanding are met. These include the cessation of hostilities in Lebanon and the removal of a US naval blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
## Maritime Security Concerns
The maritime security threat level in the Strait of Hormuz has been raised to "substantial" due to ongoing risks, including mine threats and drone activity. Despite these concerns, commercial shipping continues through the waterway.
## Regional Developments
In other regional news, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that Israeli forces will remain in southern Lebanon as long as Hezbollah poses a threat. Meanwhile, the UAE has lifted its travel ban to Lebanon, allowing Emirati citizens to visit the country again.
