Kuwait shuts seven private healthcare facilities over serious violations

## Closure of Facilities Kuwait's Ministry of Health has shut down seven private healthcare facilities due to serious breaches of health regulations. The closures include a medical center, a clinic, several physiotherapy centers, and home healthcare service providers.

## Violations Discovered The decision followed a joint inspection by multiple government departments, which uncovered significant violations. These included unlicensed medical practices and breaches of professional and technical standards. Notably, individuals without proper medical licenses were found treating patients and administering procedures like Botox injections.

## Pharmaceutical Issues Inspectors also discovered unauthorized possession of injectable medicines and materials used in therapeutic and cosmetic procedures. These were held without the necessary approvals from the Drug Inspection Department.

## Government Response The Ministry of Health emphasized that the closures reflect ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations in Kuwait. The medical center in Salmiya has been referred to the Medical Liability Authority for further investigation.
