Saudi Arabia fines Saudi German Health officials over SR358 million accounting violations

## CMA Ruling on Saudi German Health

Saudi Arabia's Capital Market Authority (CMA) has penalized 11 officials from the Middle East Healthcare Company, which operates Saudi German Health hospitals. The fines, totaling around SR18 million, were imposed due to violations of the Capital Market Law and Market Conduct Regulations.

## Misleading Financial Statements

The officials were found guilty of inflating revenues by SR358.04 million, despite knowing the low likelihood of collecting these dues. This resulted in misleading financial statements and an inaccurate portrayal of the company's financial health.

## Period of Violations

The violations occurred between December 31, 2018, and September 30, 2021. The CMA highlighted that these actions artificially boosted the company's revenues and assets, leading to false financial disclosures.

## Legal Consequences

In addition to the fines, the convicted individuals face bans from working in CMA-supervised entities for six months to a year. The ruling was coordinated with relevant authorities and is linked to a public criminal case initiated by the Public Prosecution in March 2024.

## Investor Compensation

Investors affected by these violations can seek compensation through the Committee for Resolution of Securities Disputes after filing complaints with the CMA.
