## Pipeline Progress
The UAE's strategic pipeline project designed to bypass the Strait of Hormuz is approaching the halfway mark in its construction. The project, spearheaded by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), aims to enhance the security of the country's oil exports.
## Accelerated Timeline
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, ADNOC's CEO, announced that the pipeline is nearly 50% complete and is on track for completion by 2027. This development is part of a broader strategy to reduce dependence on the Strait of Hormuz, a critical oil transit route.
## Strategic Investments
The UAE has been investing heavily in infrastructure to facilitate oil exports through Fujairah, located on the Gulf of Oman. This move is intended to provide an alternative route for crude shipments, bypassing the potentially volatile Strait of Hormuz.
## Increased Export Capacity
Once operational, the new pipeline is expected to double ADNOC's export capacity through Fujairah. The existing Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline currently handles up to 1.8 million barrels per day, underscoring the importance of this expansion.
## Recent Challenges
ADNOC is also dealing with the aftermath of recent conflicts that have impacted some of its facilities. The company is assessing the damage and costs, with some operations potentially taking months to restore to pre-conflict levels.
