## Concerns Over Digital Influence
The UAE has raised alarms about digital platforms that pose threats to family stability and youth in Sharjah. Fatima Al Marzouqi, from the Sharjah Social Services Department, emphasized that certain online content undermines family values and social cohesion by targeting young people with harmful messages.
## Impact on Families
Al Marzouqi highlighted that these digital threats are exacerbated by rapid social changes and foreign influences. She noted that the UAE's declaration of 2026 as the "Year of the Family" aims to reinforce family bonds and social values.
## National Family Policy
The UAE has implemented a comprehensive family policy to support stable family formation and marriage. In Sharjah, new policies include marriage leave for government employees and initiatives to encourage larger families.
## Support and Awareness Initiatives
Efforts to strengthen family stability include healthcare support for pregnant women and newborns, as well as educational and recreational programs. Social benefits, such as the Fazaa card, offer financial support to families.
## Addressing Social Trends
Al Marzouqi pointed out changing social trends, such as delayed marriages and smaller family sizes, which differ from traditional Emirati family structures. The Sharjah Social Services Department is working to improve family stability and financial security through various support services.
## Family and Child Protection Centre
The centre provides psychological and social support for all ages, including initiatives to reunite families and support families of inmates. These efforts aim to prevent family breakdown and address social challenges.
