## Major Investments for Future Operations

Emirates is making significant investments in Dubai South as it prepares to transition operations from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). The airline has announced a $5.1 billion engineering hub, which will be one of the largest aviation maintenance facilities globally. This complex will include a hangar capable of servicing 28 wide-body aircraft simultaneously and is expected to be completed by 2030.

## Infrastructure and Facilities

The expansion includes a new residential development for 12,000 cabin crew members, strategically located between DXB and DWC. Emirates is also enhancing its engine maintenance capabilities through agreements with GE Aerospace and Rolls-Royce, focusing on advanced repair facilities for its fleet.

## Training and Manufacturing

A new $135 million pilot training center has been established, increasing Emirates' training capacity significantly. Additionally, the airline is developing aerospace manufacturing capabilities in partnership with Safran, aiming to produce aircraft seats in Dubai by 2027.

## Supporting Services

Emirates Flight Catering is expanding its laundry operations to meet growing demand, while Emirates SkyCargo is exploring drone-powered cargo delivery systems. These initiatives are part of Emirates' broader strategy to support its future growth at DWC.
