30-minute blackout: IndiGo passengers stranded in dark, sweltering cabin

## Power Outage on IndiGo Flight

Passengers on IndiGo flight 6E 657 from Vadodara to Delhi faced a 30-minute blackout on Sunday night. The incident occurred due to a malfunction in the Ground Power Unit (GPU) at Vadodara airport, which led to a complete shutdown of cabin lights and air-conditioning.

## Passengers Endure Uncomfortable Conditions

The power failure left approximately 160 passengers in darkness and rising temperatures, causing discomfort as they waited for the issue to be resolved. Videos circulated on social media showed passengers using papers and safety cards to fan themselves in the stifling conditions.

## Restoration Efforts and Delayed Departure

Engineers took about 12 to 15 minutes to fix the GPU fault, with an additional 15 minutes needed to restore full power. The flight eventually departed around 10pm, approximately 80 minutes later than scheduled.

## Communication Concerns

Some passengers expressed dissatisfaction with the level of communication from the airline during the disruption. IndiGo stated they are investigating the incident but had not released a detailed statement at the time of reporting.
