Delhi Police arrest man, recover stolen mobile phones and bike

## Arrest in Khirki Village

Delhi Police's Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) successfully arrested a suspect involved in mobile phone snatching in Khirki Village. The operation led to the recovery of six stolen phones and a motorcycle allegedly used in the crimes.

## Investigation Details

The arrest followed a complaint by Yuvika Wadhwa, whose phone was snatched near C.R. Park. An FIR was filed on May 5, and a police team, led by Inspector Umesh Yadav, was formed to investigate. CCTV footage and technical surveillance played crucial roles in identifying the suspect, Aakash, in the Sangam Vihar area.

## Capture and Recovery

On May 17, police received a tip-off about the suspect's plan to sell stolen goods near Nala Road. A strategic trap was set, leading to Aakash's arrest. During the search, six stolen phones were found, all linked to previous theft cases across Delhi.

## Modus Operandi

Aakash, a 20-year-old from Sangam Vihar, targeted pedestrians in crowded areas, using a motorcycle with a defective number plate to avoid detection. He sold stolen phones to fund his drug addiction. Police are now working to apprehend his accomplice, Bunty, who allegedly bought one of the stolen phones.

## Ongoing Efforts

The arrest has helped solve multiple theft cases in Delhi. The police emphasize their commitment to tackling street crimes and ensuring public safety. Further investigations are underway to dismantle the network involved in these crimes.
