## UDF Returns to Power in Kerala
The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has officially returned to power in Kerala. The swearing-in ceremony for the new government, led by Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, took place on Monday at the Central Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. This marks the UDF's comeback after a decade, following their victory in the recent Assembly elections.
## Key Attendees at the Ceremony
Prominent Congress figures, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge, were present at the event. Additionally, chief ministers from other Congress-ruled states attended to show their support.
## Satheesan's Meeting with Cardinal Cleemis
Ahead of the ceremony, Satheesan met with Cardinal Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis, the Major Archbishop-Catholicos of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Satheesan expressed gratitude for the Cardinal's blessings and emphasized his commitment to inclusive governance and the development of Kerala.
## Composition of the New Cabinet
The new administration will feature a 21-member cabinet, including the Chief Minister. The Congress party is expected to hold 11 ministerial positions, while the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is likely to secure five. Notable names under consideration for ministerial roles include P.K. Kunhalikutty and K.M. Shaji. However, there are reports of internal disagreements regarding the inclusion of P.K. Basheer.
The final composition of the cabinet is anticipated to clarify the power-sharing dynamics within the UDF government.
