## Aamir Khan's Insights on 'Thugs of Hindostan'

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan recently discussed the challenges faced by his 2018 film 'Thugs of Hindostan' during a masterclass at Whistling Woods International in Mumbai. Despite its grand scale and ambition, the film failed to resonate with audiences and critics.

Khan compared the film's storyline to the classic 'Sholay', highlighting similarities in plot structure. However, he noted that frequent script changes, primarily due to casting issues, led to its downfall. Khan admitted that altering the original script was a significant mistake.

## Production and Reception

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra, 'Thugs of Hindostan' was a high-budget period action-adventure set in the East India Company era. The film featured a star-studded cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Despite its Rs 300 crore budget, the film only managed to earn around Rs 151 crore in India, making it one of Bollywood's notable box office failures. Khan described the experience as "an accident happening in slow motion."

## Future Projects

Khan also touched upon his subsequent film, 'Laal Singh Chaddha', a remake of 'Forrest Gump'. Although some audiences appreciated it, the film did not perform well commercially. Khan acknowledged that the film's failure was due to a lack of connection with the audience.
