India’s CBSE slashes re-evaluation fees, offers refund for improved marks

## New Fee Structure

India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has significantly reduced the cost for re-evaluating Class 12 exam papers. The fee is now Rs 25 per question, down from Rs 100. Additionally, if a student's marks increase after re-evaluation, the fee will be refunded.

## Access to Answer Sheets

Students can request scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets for Rs 100, a substantial decrease from the previous Rs 700. This service is available from May 19 to 22. Complaints about specific marking issues can be filed for Rs 100 per subject between May 26 and 29.

## On-Screen Marking System

The CBSE has introduced an On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluating exams, aiming to enhance accuracy and transparency. This digital system allows examiners to assess scanned answer sheets online, reducing human error and ensuring consistency with the marking scheme.

## Support for Students

For students feeling anxious or uncertain, CBSE offers tele-counseling services and email support. The board emphasizes the importance of using official channels for assistance and reassures students that their concerns will be addressed.
