## Key Findings from the 2025 UAE Traffic Report

The UAE Ministry of Interior's 2025 traffic report reveals that sudden swerving was the primary cause of road accidents, accounting for 1,047 incidents. Distracted driving and failure to maintain a safe distance were also significant contributors, with 931 and 849 accidents respectively.

## Breakdown of Traffic Accidents

In total, 6,014 traffic accidents were recorded across the UAE in 2025. These included 4,085 vehicle collisions, 1,102 pedestrian run-over incidents, and 800 rollovers. Light vehicles were involved in the majority of these accidents, with 3,834 cases.

## Economic Impact and Fatality Rates

The economic cost of traffic accidents in Abu Dhabi alone reached Dh5.2 billion. The fatality rate was 3.11 deaths per 100,000 residents, showing a decline from previous years.

## Pedestrian Safety Initiatives

Efforts to improve pedestrian safety have led to a decrease in pedestrian accidents, from 18% to 13% over three years. Projects under the Pedestrian Safety Initiative include the construction of pedestrian bridges and signal-controlled crossings.
