## On-Screen Marking System

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has implemented an On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluating Class 12 board exams. This digital approach aims to enhance accuracy and transparency by reducing manual errors and ensuring a complete assessment of answer scripts. The system also promotes faster processing and a paperless workflow, contributing to an eco-friendly evaluation process.

## Post-Result Review Options

CBSE offers a two-stage review process for students dissatisfied with their results. In the first stage, students can request scanned copies of their evaluated answer sheets. These copies are accessible online and must be requested for selected subjects in a single submission.

In the second stage, students can apply for verification of discrepancies or request a re-evaluation of specific answers. Applications must be submitted online within the specified timeline, and only one application per stage is allowed. The board emphasizes that marks may increase or decrease after review, and any changes will require students to return their original mark sheets for updated ones.

## Finality of Decisions

CBSE has made it clear that the results of re-evaluation are final and binding, with no further appeals allowed. All applications must be submitted online, and fees are to be paid digitally. The board also notes that scanned answer book copies can be accessed under RTI provisions, although re-evaluation requests cannot be made through this route.
